WiFi Doctor: Speed Test ("the App") is published by Bulpara ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Network Test Results
- Most test data stays on your device. Speed results, ping, jitter, DNS timing, diagnosis history, room names, device scan results, notes, and PDF report data are stored locally using Apple device storage.
- We do not operate an account system for the App, and we do not require sign-in to run tests.
- If you export or share a PDF report through the iOS share sheet, you choose where that report goes. We do not receive it.
2. Internet Requests During Tests
WiFi Doctor contacts external network endpoints only when needed for the feature you start:
- Latency checks: The App may contact Apple-hosted connectivity endpoints to estimate latency.
- Download speed checks: The App may download a test file from Cloudflare speed-test infrastructure to estimate throughput.
- DNS checks: The App may query public DNS resolvers such as Cloudflare, Google, and Quad9 for timing comparisons.
- Public IP / ISP lookup: If you explicitly press the lookup button, the App contacts ipapi.co to show your public IP and ISP name for troubleshooting.
Those third-party services may receive standard network request information such as IP address, timing, headers, and operational logs according to their own policies.
3. Local Network and WiFi Details
- Local Network: Requested only when you start Device Scan. The App uses Bonjour / local network discovery to find nearby advertised services such as routers, TVs, printers, and cast devices.
- Current WiFi details: iOS may require location permission before exposing current WiFi details such as SSID, BSSID, and signal strength. These details are used for diagnosis and stored locally if included in test history.
- The App does not claim to scan neighboring WiFi networks or provide a full channel survey.
4. Data Stored Locally
- Room history: Room names, icons, notes, timestamps, and associated test results.
- Network tests: Download speed, estimated upload, ping, jitter, DNS timing, diagnosis, evidence, and fix checklist.
- Discovered devices: Display name, hostname, service type, device type, last seen time, and whether you renamed the device.
- Preferences: Onboarding state, theme, DNS hosts, notification setting, free-tier counters, and export usage.
- Purchase status: Subscription state is managed by Apple's StoreKit and cached locally for feature gating.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Manages subscriptions and purchases. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (free tier only): Displays banner and interstitial ads to free users and manages consent where required. Google may collect device identifiers, coarse location, advertising data, product interaction data, crash data, and performance data. Premium users see no ads.
- Cloudflare, Apple, public DNS resolvers, and ipapi.co: Used only for the network tests or lookups described above.
6. Advertising and Tracking
Free users may see ads. The App may request App Tracking Transparency permission so Google AdMob can use device identifiers for personalized advertising where allowed. If you decline tracking, ads may still appear but should be less personalized. Premium subscribers do not trigger ad display in normal app use.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not receive or sell your local WiFi test history. Third-party services used for ads, purchases, DNS, speed tests, and optional IP lookup may process data as described in their own privacy policies.
8. Your Controls
- Delete saved tests, rooms, and devices from inside the App where available.
- Delete the App to remove local history and preferences from your device.
- Disable Local Network, Location, Notifications, or Tracking in iOS Settings at any time.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is designed as a general network utility and does not include social features or user accounts.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
